Algas Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)

Automatic Meter Reading

The Algas Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) is powered by Solar Panel 10W Battery Charging and 9600 Boudrate  GSM communication, where is boudrate for general equipment. Algas Automatic Meter Reading. This is a reliable and stable device. With its small dimensions it is practical and compact. The design of the Algas AMR was developed with a universal Electronic Volume Corrector and low power consumption at a wide range of boudrate can be change. The basic operation is very simple and software utilities have been prepared for more demanding work. The device is available in many versions.

The device is constantly being improved according to the latest findings and customer requirements. The manufacturer reserves the right to change certain functions without notice.

Technical Description

1. Basic characteristics of device

The Algas Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) proposed by PT. Algas Mitra sejati, is a real industrial solution for remote reading of devices, in area without PSTN (fixed phone network) and without main power network (230V).

The IP65 rated enclosure and the industrial operating temperature range (-10°C to +50°C), makes the GSM Box suitable for outdoor installation in field operation.

2. Description of functionality

The Algas Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) has been designed to connect the electronic devices installed in hazardous area to the GSM network for remote reading applications. The modem used is the Wavecom Fastrack Supreme Quad Band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GPRS/GPS Class 10 Modem. Batteries are included in the box to ensure operations, and under limited luminosity conditions (solar panel version).

The GSM modem can be used to send outbound alarm calls from the devices to a Supervision system. The volume corrector is sending the commands to the GSM modem, for connection to Software Supervise.

3. Technical data

The Algas Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) has a cast aluminum box rated IP 65, to ensure a high level of protection to the electronic boards from climatic conditions.

The operating temperature range of the Algas AMR (-10°C to +50°C) make it the ideal choice for real industrial remote reading applications.

4. Technical features

  • Safe area installation
  • Operating temperature range : -10°C to +50°C
  • Storing temperature range : -20°C to +60°C (without batteries)
  • Communication speed up to 921600 bauds (9600 by default) on the GSM network
  • Autonomous operation with solar panel
  • Batteries for operations during main power cut, or limited light conditions
  • IP65 rated iron box (dimensions 400x300x150) with epoxy painting
  • Lightning protection (option for the main power version) and a 10 A fuse
  • Modem protected by a separate fuse 2A

5. Description of the GSM network

The purpose of this paragraph is to explain the architecture of a GSM network and the involvement for communicating with our devices.

The selected GSM modem can work with the 2 radio bands for GSM in Europe : 900MHz and 1800MHz.An other model can be used for the 1900MHz band (North America).
